Abstract

Dengan kehadiran media baharu, ianya sedikit sebanyak mengancam kedudukan media tradisional. Industri penerbitan akhbar menunjukkan penurunan dari tahun ke tahun. Ianya amat membimbangkan industri percetakan akhbar. Kajian ini telah dibuat bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesan kehadiran media baharu terhadap pengumpulan berita, kesan kehadiran media baharu terhadap industri penerbitan dan mengkaji penggunaan media baharu dalam kalangan wartawan. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah temubual secara mendalam bersama Encik Zainudin Mohd Isa merupakan Pengarang Bersekutu Digital, Rencana dan Laporan Khas Berita Harian untuk mendapatkkan maklumat terperinci mengenai kes ini. Berdasarkan maklumat yang telah diperolehi, media baharu banyak memberi kesan terhadap media tradisional namun pengarang tidak terlalu fokus untuk meningkatkan kembali pengeluaran akhbar cetak tetapi mengambil langkah untuk mengukuhkan pengeluaran berita melalui media baharu seperti media sosial, facebook, twitter, instagram, whatssap dan youtube.
